A carnival of colors – that was the crystal anniversary celebration of the Chavara Memorial Painting Contest 2016, held on 6th August. The Chavara campus thrilled to the footsteps of about 1600 aspiring artists from various schools. Rich in symbolic meaning was the presence of the two esteemed chief guest of the day ,Mr. S. Joseph- poet and the prestigious ‘Odakkuzhal Award’ winner and Mr. Baiju P K – artist and Lalithakala Academi award winner 2015.
The highlight of the day was the painting contest when vivid imagination was uncorked in vibrant hues. The special feature, however ,was the “Alla Prima” at which a huge 25 meter canvas beckoned one and all at the venue - parents, students, and visitors to showcase their artistic talents. Thus the event turned out to be a joyous occasion for bonding together with mutual appreciation and admiration. Each contestant felt like a winner, carrying home a valued gift kit as a token of appreciation. After all, “The swift does not always win the race, nor do the mighty win the battle”_ The Bible.
